Sometimes, nothing goes your way. Life throws you a curve ball, and you expect a change-up. You still hit the ball, but worse than striking out, you ground the ball to second base, sprint as hard a you can to first, while the second baseman mocks you, doing a horrendous rendition of the macarena, and then tosses the ball between his legs to first baseman, who then procedes to do the moonwalk to first base to step on the bag just fractions of a second before you get there. Getting the third out in the ninth inning when your team was down one run with two men on base, you take the walk of shame back to the bench. You forget to shake the hands of the other team, resulting in a technical foul for unsportmanlike conduct: a 15 yard penalty and an automatic first down. Plus they get the ball back after shooting their two shots.

It's 5:18 AM, why do you ask?

Sometimes you know not what to do
Things don't add up in your favor
If it can go wrong it will
Lovely things you cannot savor

Your core is drained and dried
It is a tanned, leathery hide
Residing on the outside
Nowhere to be found
A vacuum is left inside
